State Governor Appoints Commissioners, Aides
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the appointment of six commissioners-designate and four political aides as part of moves to strengthen his administration.
The Secretary to the Niger State Government, Abubakar Usman, disclosed the appointments in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The six nominees are Lucky Barau from Gurara Local Government Area, Isah Wakili from Bosso Local Government Area and Dr Isah Adamu from Kontagora Local Government Area.
Others are Emmanuel Alamu from Magama Local Government Area, Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji from Mashegu Local Government Area and Mohammed Danladi Garba from Borgu Local Government Area.
Their appointments as commissioners are subject to screening and confirmation by the Niger State House of Assembly, in accordance with the law.
In addition to the commissioner nominees, Governor Bago approved the appointment of Alhaji Nma Kolo as his Chief Political Adviser.
Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were also appointed as Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.
According to the state government, the appointments are intended to improve the running of government, strengthen service delivery and provide wider representation for people from different parts of the state.
The latest appointments will add six new nominees to the state’s proposed executive council once they are cleared by the House of Assembly.
