The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that popular TikTok content creator Mirabel is currently receiving treatment in an intensive care unit (ICU) while investigations into her sexual assault allegations continue.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, provided an update on Thursday during an appearance on The Morning Brief.

He explained that the police had established contact with Mirabel earlier this week after her viral videos detailing the alleged assault sparked widespread public outrage. Officers traced her to the Ibafo area, and preliminary investigations indicate that the incident reportedly occurred in Ogijo, a border community between Ogun and Lagos states.
“When the DPO in Ibafo met with her, she was taken to the hospital for medical analysis. She wasn’t as stable as necessary, but we ensured the investigation continued.
“As we speak, she is in the intensive care unit getting appropriate care. Her medical well-being is more important to us at this point. When she is stable, we can now continue investigations and get the necessary facts,” Babaseyi stated.
He emphasized that ensuring her health and stability remains the immediate priority, with further details to be obtained once she is able to provide a comprehensive account.
Police Urge Public Restraint

The allegations have triggered intense debate on social media, with some questioning the authenticity of Mirabel’s claims.
Babaseyi urged the public not to draw conclusions prematurely. “We advise people not to jump to conclusions based on emotions. We are investigating and will rely on evidence to reach a logical conclusion,” he said, calling on anyone with relevant information to come forward.
He also clarified reports circulating online suggesting that Mirabel had been arrested. “She was not arrested by the police. She reported a case, and we are investigating. Nothing like her arrest happened,” he confirmed.
The police added that if the allegations are substantiated, the perpetrator will be arrested and prosecuted. Conversely, false claims will also be dealt with according to the law.
Details of Mirabel’s Allegations

Mirabel first brought attention to the matter through a series of videos posted on Sunday, in which she alleged that an intruder forcibly entered her residence, assaulted her, inflicted injuries, and compelled her to ingest a toxic substance.
She further claimed that the suspect later contacted her through social media platforms.
Following the viral posts and the social media campaign #StopRapingWomen, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency initially became involved in the matter. However, jurisdiction shifted to the Ogun State Police, where the incident reportedly took place.
