Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest have appointed Vitor Pereira as their fourth manager of the season, the club confirmed on Sunday.
The former Wolves boss has signed an 18-month contract following the dismissal of Sean Dyche earlier this week.

“Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm that Vitor Pereira has been appointed as head coach on an 18-month deal,” the club said in a statement.
Pereira takes over with the immediate task of steering Forest clear of the relegation zone. The club currently sit three points above the bottom three with 12 league games remaining.

Dyche was sacked after Wednesday’s goalless draw against bottom-placed Wolves at the City Ground. He had been in charge for just 114 days, following the brief 39-day tenure of Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed in October. Nuno Espirito Santo had also been relieved of his duties earlier in the campaign.
Pereira, 57, had been out of work since being dismissed by Wolves in November after a difficult start to the season. Despite guiding Wolves to Premier League safety in the 2024–25 season after replacing Gary O’Neil, he was unable to replicate that success in the current campaign.
The Portuguese coach has previously worked with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during his time at Greek club Olympiacos.
His first match in charge will be next week’s Europa League play-off first leg away to Fenerbahce. However, his primary focus will be securing Forest’s top-flight status.

Forest’s turbulent managerial season contrasts sharply with last year’s impressive seventh-place Premier League finish under Nuno, which secured their first European qualification since the 1995–96 campaign. Nuno’s departure in September followed reported disagreements with Marinakis over transfer policy after 21 months in charge.
Pereira built his reputation at Porto, where he won back-to-back league titles during a successful two-year spell. He has also managed Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, Fenerbahce in Turkey, Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, and Brazilian clubs Corinthians and Flamengo.
