Nigerian website owners have been warned about security vulnerabilities in the Jupiter X Core plugin for WordPress, which could expose their platforms to cyber threats.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) issued the warning through its official X account on Wednesday, highlighting the severity of the vulnerability identified as CVE-2025-0366.
According to the agency, this vulnerability presents a major cybersecurity risk, as it could allow attackers to gain control of affected websites without requiring authentication.
A security advisory from the Computer Emergency Readiness and Response Team Nigeria (CERNT.NG) described the issue as an “unauthenticated privilege escalation vulnerability,” meaning attackers could exploit it to obtain administrative access or execute arbitrary code on compromised websites.
“A critical security flaw has been discovered in the Jupiter X Core plugin for WordPress, affecting websites using this popular theme framework,” the statement warned.
