The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a series of ministerial press briefings aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in governance.

Announcing the initiative at a press conference in Abuja, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that President Bola Tinubu has mandated all ministers to periodically address the media and update Nigerians on their policies and activities.

Idris emphasized that the press briefings would serve as a direct communication platform for ministers to engage with citizens, outline key developments in their ministries, and respond to public concerns.

As part of the initiative, ministers will take turns weekly to brief the public, reinforcing the government’s commitment to open governance. The move also comes ahead of Tinubu’s administration’s second anniversary, highlighting its efforts to keep Nigerians informed about ongoing programs and policies.

Further details are expected as the ministerial briefings progress.
