Manchester City have signed a monumental kit deal extension with Puma, reportedly worth £1 billion ($1.34 billion) over the next 10 years, setting a new benchmark for Premier League clubs and making it one of the most lucrative kit deals in global football.
The agreement, which will run until 2035, replaces City’s previous £65 million-per-year contract with the German sportswear giant, originally signed in 2019. British media reports estimate the new annual value at £100 million, surpassing Manchester United’s £90 million-per-year deal with Adidas inked in 2023.
In doing so, City now stand alongside European powerhouses like Real Madrid and Barcelona, whose kit deals are also reported to exceed the £100 million mark annually.
City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano hailed the extended partnership:
“We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons. Puma have seamlessly integrated into our organisation, and we have enjoyed many historic moments together, engaging fans globally.”
Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld echoed the sentiment:
“Puma’s partnership with Manchester City has been a great success both on and off the pitch. Trophies, a perfect stage for our performance products, and commercial success were exceptional.”
The new kit deal comes after a comparatively disappointing season for City, who ended the 2024/25 campaign without a major trophy for the first time since 2016-17. Pep Guardiola’s side finished third in the Premier League, lost the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace, and were eliminated early from the Club World Cup by Al-Hilal.
Despite the lack of silverware, Manchester City’s brand power and global commercial appeal remain undeniable — a fact strongly reflected in this record-breaking Puma partnership.
