The Kano State Government has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting an impending security crisis, insisting that the state remains safe, calm and fully secure.
The clarification came after a State Security Council meeting held on Sunday, attended by all heads of security agencies, where Governor Abba Yusuf received an extensive update on ongoing security operations across the state.
In a statement released Monday and signed by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, the government stated that there is no credible intelligence indicating any threat to public order.
According to the statement, “There is no valid or actionable information pointing to any significant security risk in Kano,” describing the circulating claims as false, sensational and intentionally designed to trigger unnecessary fear.
The government criticised the rising spread of fake security warnings and cautioned those responsible to desist or face legal action.

It added that the state has strengthened collaboration with security agencies, community networks and intelligence services, ensuring increased surveillance throughout Kano.
Bature noted that “Security formations have been briefed, strategically deployed and are working round the clock to neutralise any potential breach.”
Residents were encouraged to remain calm, continue their daily activities without fear, and avoid spreading misleading information online.
The statement further highlighted that Governor Yusuf’s administration is intensifying intelligence efforts, improving inter-agency cooperation and deploying modern security systems to safeguard the state.
It concluded that Kano will not be shaken by fear, misinformation or attempts to disrupt its stability, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.
