Erling Haaland’s stunning brace lifted Manchester City to a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday, propelling Pep Guardiola’s side into second place in the Premier League standings.
The Norwegian striker, in typically ruthless form, brought his league tally to 13 goals in just 10 games, ensuring City narrowed the gap on leaders Arsenal to six points and moved one ahead of Liverpool ahead of next weekend’s showdown.

Bournemouth, who entered the match unbeaten in 10 league games, started strongly but were undone by City’s clinical attack. Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden were both instrumental in the creative buildup, with Cherki setting up both of Haaland’s goals.
Haaland opened the scoring in the 17th minute after bursting from inside his own half to fire past Djordje Petrovic. Bournemouth responded through Tyler Adams, who capitalized on a fumble from Gianluigi Donnarumma to equalize eight minutes later.
Before halftime, Haaland struck again, racing onto another precise Cherki pass before calmly rounding Petrovic and finishing for his 26th goal of the season across all competitions.

The 25-year-old also achieved another milestone, becoming only the third player in Premier League history—after Luis Suárez and Robbie Fowler—to score multiple goals in four consecutive home games.
City sealed the win in the second half through Nico O’Riley, who fired in from distance after a clever assist from Foden. Haaland was later substituted for Omar Marmoush with a Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on the horizon.
Despite Haaland’s dominance, Guardiola urged other attackers to share the scoring load as City aim to keep pace with Arsenal’s relentless form.
