Ude Chukwu, who served as deputy governor of Abia State under Okezie Ikpeazu from 2015 to 2023, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated August 5 and addressed to the chairman of his ward, Ndi Elu, Nkporo, Ohafia LGA, Chukwu cited “personal reasons” for his decision, describing it as difficult but necessary. He thanked the PDP for its support over the years and wished the party success in the future.
Chukwu’s exit from the PDP came shortly after his visit to Abia State governor, Alex Otti, during which he reportedly praised Otti’s performance and suggested the governor had already secured re-election for 2027.
