“We join the Government and people of Niger State in mourning this painful loss,” the statement read. “This heartbreaking incident has once again brought to the fore the devastating human and material consequences of fuel tanker accidents in our communities.”

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) was also directed to intensify its nationwide awareness campaigns on safety practices, especially in rural and high-risk areas, to help prevent future occurrences.
