Nigerian Afrobeats superstar and Grammy-nominated artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has achieved another major career milestone as his fourth studio album, “Timeless,” earns a prestigious Silver Certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in the United Kingdom.

The certification, awarded for surpassing 60,000 units sold, marks a significant moment not only in Davido’s illustrious career but also in the continued global rise of Afrobeats music. Since its release on March 31, 2023, Timeless has made waves across the globe, shattering streaming records and asserting Davido’s dominance on digital platforms including Spotify Nigeria, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube.

Boasting 17 tracks, the album presents a rich fusion of sonic influences — from Afrobeats to dancehall, reggae, konto, highlife, and Afropop. With standout collaborations featuring Asake, Skepta, Dexta Daps, Fave, Cavemen, and Beninese legend Angelique Kidjo, Timeless has been celebrated for its sonic range and cross-cultural appeal.

Critically and commercially acclaimed, the album’s impact has transcended charts and playlists. It earned Davido his first Grammy nomination for Best Global Album, while the smash hits “Unavailable” and “Feel” secured nominations for Best African Song Performance and Best Global Song Performance, respectively — reflecting Davido’s increasing stature in global music conversations.

Adding to the momentum, the artist launched the “Timeless Tour,” a high-energy global concert series that took him across key cities including Washington D.C., Toronto, New York, and London. The tour further solidified his fan base in North America and Europe, showcasing his ability to command international stages with the same fervor as he does back home.

This not only reflects Davido’s personal evolution as an artist but also serves as a landmark in Afrobeats’ journey from local sound to global phenomenon. With a Grammy nomination, BPI certification, and widespread critical acclaim under his belt, Davido continues to etch his name into the fabric of global music history — timeless indeed.
