Chelsea have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign England U-21 winger Jamie Gittens, in a deal reportedly valued at up to €65 million (£55m, $76m).
According to Sky Sports, both clubs, currently participating in the Club World Cup in the United States, have finalized the terms for the 20-year-old, who previously spent time in Chelsea’s youth setup before moving to Manchester City’s academy and later joining Dortmund in 2022.
Gittens made 107 appearances for the German side, scoring 17 goals, with 12 of those coming in the Bundesliga and Champions League last season.

Chelsea turned down the opportunity to sign Jadon Sancho permanently following his loan spell at Stamford Bridge, prompting the search for alternatives in wide positions. The situation became more pressing due to Mykhailo Mudryk’s ongoing provisional suspension by the English FA after a failed drug test.
This move would mark Gittens as Chelsea’s fourth addition during the current transfer window, alongside Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sarr. Brazilian prospect Estevao Willian is also expected to join the club after completing his Club World Cup duties with Palmeiras.
What you should know
Jamie Gittens is set for a return to Chelsea, the club where his early development began. With Mudryk’s suspension and Sancho out of the picture, the Blues see Gittens as a long-term solution to reinforce their flanks, adding more pace and firepower to their attacking setup.
