Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking midfielder Marco Asensio has finalized a transfer to Turkish club Fenerbahce on the last day of the transfer window, as confirmed by both teams on Monday, September 1, 2025.

“Our club has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the permanent transfer of Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio,” Fenerbahce posted on social media, without disclosing the fee paid for the Spaniard.

“He has signed a 3+1 year contract, committing himself to our yellow and navy colours.”

The 29-year-old moved to PSG from Real Madrid in 2023, following a successful stint at the Bernabeu, where he secured three Champions League titles and three La Liga trophies.

Asensio spent the latter half of the previous season on loan at Premier League club Aston Villa, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.

The Spanish international, with 38 caps and two goals for his national team, last represented Spain in 2023.

He joins Fenerbahce, which recently parted ways with Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho after failing to qualify for the Champions League in late August.

Turkish media reports suggest that the Istanbul-based club is set to announce the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson from Manchester City in the coming hours.
