The Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Segun Akinwumi, has resigned from his position.
Akinwumi made this known in a letter addressed to the state chairman of the party. In the letter, he explained that his resignation was due to personal reasons.
The letter, which surfaced on Sunday, showed that the ADC chieftain appreciated the opportunity given to him to serve the party as the state secretary.
He thanked the leadership of the party for the confidence and trust they placed in him during the time he held the position.
Akinwumi also stated in the letter that his resignation takes immediate effect.
While announcing his departure, the former secretary thanked party leaders and members for their support throughout the period he served the party.
He said he was grateful for the chance to contribute to the growth and development of the ADC in the state.
Akinwumi also said he would be willing to serve again in the future if the party calls on him.
Despite stepping down from his role, he urged members of the party to remain united.
He also called on party supporters to work together to ensure the success of the ADC candidate in the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election.
