The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied reports claiming that its Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned.
The party described the reports as false and misleading.
In a statement released by the National Chairman’s Media Office, the party rejected the claims and described them as “an insidious fabrication” carried out by “puerile, weak and inconsiderate propagandists.”
The statement also confirmed that Mark is still the substantive National Chairman of the party. It stressed that there are no plans or ongoing discussions about his resignation.
“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement said.
The party added that its leadership remains united and committed to strengthening democratic values and providing credible leadership for Nigerians.
The ADC also warned against attempts to destabilise the party. It said such actions may be linked to concerns about the party’s growing influence and the changing political situation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
The party urged Nigerians to ignore the rumours and remain confident in the stability of its leadership.
