Nigerian actor, Bolanle Ninalowo, has expressed shock and disbelief after news broke that an impersonator, identified as Bolanle Azeez, defrauded a woman of N33 million under the pretense of being the Nollywood star.
The victim, Victoria Ayano, in a petition submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleged that Azeez had posed as Ninalowo and manipulated her into parting with the huge sum. The petition has since drawn wide public attention after Ninalowo himself shared it on Instagram.
Reacting to the development, the actor questioned the strange circumstances surrounding the fraud, exclaiming: “Which kine juju be this naa?” He further expressed astonishment over the sheer amount involved, noting that not even his Nollywood career had afforded him such financial gain per project.
“This one loud ooo. N33,000,000 for wetin? Even Nollywood wey blow me never pay me N33 million per film,” Ninalowo wrote, stressing the unrealistic nature of the scam.
The incident is not the first time the actor has had to deal with impersonation. In 2023, a man was sentenced to prison for a similar offense after using his identity to scam unsuspecting individuals. Earlier this year, in March 2025, Ninalowo had also lamented the proliferation of fake accounts in his name across TikTok and other social media platforms, warning fans to remain vigilant.
With this latest case, Ninalowo has once again found himself at the center of online fraud controversies, highlighting the growing menace of impersonation scams in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
