State governor reshuffles cabinet
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has carried out a minor reshuffle of his cabinet, redeploying four commissioners to different ministries.
The latest development marks the second time the governor has made changes to his cabinet since assuming office.
The Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, announced the redeployments in a statement on Saturday.
According to Ikhilor, the changes were made as part of efforts by the state government to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and ensure greater efficiency in the administration of the state.
Under the new arrangement, Felix Ehiguese Akhabue has been moved from the Ministry of Water Resources to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
Barrister Vincent Osas Uwadiae, who previously headed the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Andrew Momodu has also been transferred from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources.
In another change, Prof. Omorodion Ikponmwosa, who previously served as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
The state government said the redeployments took immediate effect.
Ikhilor urged the affected commissioners to apply their experience and expertise in their new portfolios while remaining committed to the administration’s SHINE Agenda for the development of Edo State.
The governor’s latest cabinet adjustment comes as his administration continues to reorganise ministries and assign officials to portfolios considered important to its governance plans.
