Samaila Dalhat, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented the Kankia/Ingawa/Kusada Federal Constituency of Katsina State, has died.
Dalhat’s death was confirmed by political stakeholders in Katsina State on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
However, details about the cause of his death were not immediately available.
Dalhat served as a federal lawmaker representing the constituency in the National Assembly.
His death has attracted condolences from political figures, associates and residents of Katsina State.
Ashafa Saulawa, the National Secretary of the 25 Million Youth Awareness for Better Nigeria, was among those who mourned the former lawmaker.
In a condolence message shared on Thursday morning, August 20, Saulawa described Dalhat as a respected and kind-hearted person.
He expressed sympathy to Dalhat’s family, friends, political associates and the wider Katsina community over the loss.
Saulawa also prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
He further prayed for strength and patience for the family and others affected by Dalhat’s death.
Other people also took to social media to mourn the former lawmaker, describing his death as a painful loss to those who knew and worked with him.
