Tinubu replaces Wike’s ally in appointment
President Bola Tinubu has approved changes in key federal agencies, including the Border Communities Development Agency and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.
Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, a former member of the House of Representatives, has been named the new Director General of the BCDA.
He replaces Dakorinama Alabo George, who is an ally to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
George left the position after resigning to contest for the Rivers State governorship in 2027. He later failed to secure the APC ticket, which went to Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, a former minority leader in the 10th National Assembly.
Namdas is not new to top political decisions.
During the 9th House of Representatives, he stepped down from his speakership ambition to support Femi Gbajabiamila, who is now Chief of Staff to the President.
In another appointment, Patrick Obahiagbon, a former lawmaker from Edo State known for his complex speaking style, has been named Executive Director for Strategy and Commercial at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company. He takes over from Ogbeide-Ihama.
The President also retained Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director of Corporate Services in the same agency, keeping him in his current role as part of the ongoing adjustments in the power sector leadership.
