Nigerian Fuel Stations Reduce Petrol Price

Some fuel stations across Nigeria have lowered their petrol prices.

Recent checks show that Ranoil now sells petrol at N1,370 per liter, while Empire Energy charges N1,383 per liter.

These rates are down from N1,440 and N1,430 per liter respectively, meaning customers now pay N70 and N37 less per liter at these stations.

Other major stations, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and MRS, are selling petrol at N1,361 and N1,367 per liter.

A station manager said the price changes were made to stay competitive in the market.

The shift in prices comes as crude oil costs dropped sharply on Monday. Brent crude fell to $100.2 per barrel, and West Texas Intermediate went down to $88.85 per barrel.

The decrease followed announcements that the US and Iran were holding talks to ease tensions in the Middle East.

The drop in crude oil prices has sparked expectations that Dangote Refinery may reduce its gantry petrol price, which has been N1,245 per liter despite several price increases earlier this month.
