A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered the arrest of Kabiru Turaki, a factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for failing to appear in court in a case filed by the Nigeria Police Force.
The trial judge, U. P. Kekemeke, gave the order on Thursday, stating that Turaki, a former minister, did not provide any valid reason for his absence in court.
The case was brought before the court by the Inspector-General of Police, who filed a one-count charge against Turaki.
According to the charge, Turaki is accused of providing false information to the police in a petition dated October 2022.
More details are expected to follow as the case develops.
