Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to distribute rice across all states of the federation in support of citizens observing the ongoing Ramadan and Lent.
The initiative is aimed at promoting national unity and demonstrating compassion during a period that carries deep spiritual meaning for both Muslims and Christians.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma.
According to the statement, “under the directive, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will coordinate the distribution through their nationwide grassroots network to ensure that families across Nigeria benefit from the intervention during this holy season when both Muslims and Christians are fasting.”
The statement noted that a similar intervention had earlier been carried out during the Christmas season to assist citizens celebrating the festive period.
“It is worth noting that a similar intervention was carried out during the last Christmas season, when rice was also distributed to support Nigerians celebrating the festive period.
“This continued effort reflects the administration’s consistent commitment to standing with citizens during important religious and cultural seasons.”
The statement further explained that both Christian and Muslim communities will benefit from the nationwide distribution exercise, describing the effort as part of the president’s broader commitment to inclusivity, solidarity and shared national values.
Speaking on the programme, Hope Uzodimma said the initiative highlights the president’s belief in supporting citizens during periods of religious observance while encouraging harmony among different faith groups.

“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to unity and compassion. Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another. Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period.”
The statement added that the distribution exercise will be implemented nationwide through the state, local government and ward structures of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to ensure that the food relief reaches communities across the country in a transparent and organised manner.
