The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has joined forces with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to combat corruption in Nigeria using innovative technological solutions. This strategic partnership is designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and economic integrity, addressing one of the nation’s most persistent challenges.

During a courtesy visit to EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, NBTI Director General Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji praised the commission’s recent achievements, including the recovery of over N200 billion and the prosecution of nearly 3,000 cases within a year. These successes, he noted, have strengthened global confidence in Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts.

According to a statement from NBTI’s Chief Information Officer, Olajumoke David, the collaboration will focus on deploying technology-driven anti-corruption tools for real-time financial monitoring, enhancing accountability in SME funding, and using AI-driven analytics to detect illicit financial activities. Additionally, the initiative will provide capacity-building programs to promote ethical business practices and offer entrepreneurial training for rehabilitated offenders.

Dr. Raji highlighted corruption as a major obstacle to Nigeria’s economic growth and reaffirmed NBTI’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship while ensuring financial transparency through digital solutions. He also celebrated recent NBTI milestones, including an incubatee’s global recognition at the $1 million Zayed Sustainability Prize and a new partnership with the Kwara State Government to establish a world-class technology incubation hub.

Emphasizing the significance of this partnership, Dr. Raji stated, “This collaboration is a game-changer—a bold declaration that Nigeria is ready to rebuild trust, attract investment, and create a thriving, corruption-free economy. With the EFCC’s enforcement strength and NBTI’s innovation-driven economic agenda, we are laying the foundation for a Nigeria where transparency, accountability, and enterprise thrive. Technology and integrity must go hand in hand to drive sustainable national development.”

Seen as a transformative step in Nigeria’s fight against corruption, this partnership signals a renewed commitment to fostering a business environment built on trust, innovation, and economic integrity.
