President Bola Tinubu has insisted on stronger strategies and improved outcomes in the ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity across parts of Nigeria.

He made this known during a meeting with service chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies at the State House, Abuja.

The session, held behind closed doors in the President’s office, lasted for over an hour.

Speaking after the meeting, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, explained that the discussion was highly interactive, noting that the President provided new guidance and instructions aimed at enhancing the fight against all forms of insecurity.

He assured Nigerians that security agencies are working more closely to ensure citizens enjoy a peaceful yuletide season.

Meanwhile, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, also held a separate meeting with President Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.

Although little has been disclosed about the discussion, it is believed to be linked to the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Otti visits Nnamdi Kanu

Governor Otti recently visited Kanu at the Sokoto prison, accompanied by Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu; the Abia State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN); and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.

He has repeatedly expressed his intention to pursue all lawful options to secure Kanu’s release.

Tuesday’s visit to President Tinubu is widely perceived as part of Otti’s broader political and legal efforts to deepen discussions and explore potential resolutions at the federal level.

What you should know

President Tinubu is pushing for faster and more effective security results, issuing new directives to service chiefs.

Governor Alex Otti’s visit to the President is believed to be tied to ongoing efforts to secure Nnamdi Kanu’s release, as political and legal engagements continue at the federal level.
