The Lagos State Government has collaborated with Huawei Technologies to introduce four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites at strategic locations across the state. This initiative is aimed at improving traffic control and road safety. The newly installed ITS sites will function alongside existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices to streamline enforcement and monitoring.

According to Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the ITS deployment will be categorized into checkpoint sites for speed monitoring and e-police sites for detecting traffic violations. These systems will help regulate vehicle movement, enhance compliance with traffic laws, and promote safer roads within the state.

“The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, in collaboration with Huawei Technologies, has deployed four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites across four locations in the state to improve traffic management and road safety.

“The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced this during a press briefing on Thursday, stating that the new installations will complement the existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and other Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices,” the statement read in part.
