The Lagos State Government has collaborated with Huawei Technologies to introduce four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites at strategic locations across the state. This initiative is aimed at improving traffic control and road safety. The newly installed ITS sites will function alongside existing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices to streamline enforcement and monitoring.
According to Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the ITS deployment will be categorized into checkpoint sites for speed monitoring and e-police sites for detecting traffic violations. These systems will help regulate vehicle movement, enhance compliance with traffic laws, and promote safer roads within the state.
