Nigeria’s female representatives at the 2025 African Cup for Club Hockey Championship clinched a bronze medal on Friday after a 1-0 victory over Kenya’s Mombasa Hockey Club in Cairo, Egypt.
The competition saw five Nigerian hockey clubs participate, including Kada Stars, Niger Flickers, Plateau Queens, Kaduna Queens, and Delta Queens. Kada Queens delivered a strong performance throughout the tournament but fell short of making it to the final. However, they bounced back to claim third place with a hard-fought win against the Kenyan side.
This achievement underscores the growing influence of Nigerian hockey on the continental stage, as the team demonstrated resilience and skill in securing a podium finish.
