WhatsApp continues to roll out new features, with the latest beta update for Android introducing a small but useful improvement: an easier way to create communities.
In the latest beta version available through the Play Store, users can now create a community directly from the chats tab. Instead of navigating to the Communities tab first, users can simply tap the three-dot menu (hamburger button) at the top right and select “New Community.”

This update reduces the number of steps required, making the process more convenient. The same menu will still allow access to other options such as New Group, Starred Messages, and Settings.
Speculation suggests that this change might be part of a broader update where the Communities tab is replaced by a new AI chatbot tab. Given the increasing integration of AI features across platforms in 2025, WhatsApp could be shifting focus towards AI-driven interactions while still keeping community creation accessible.
For now, this feature is only available to beta testers, but it is expected to roll out to all users in a future stable update.
