The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Strategic Command, has arrested 23-year-old Faisal Yusuf-Umar, a suspected notorious drug dealer, in Fagge Local Government Area.
Public Relations Officer Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari said the arrest followed a surveillance operation prompted by community reports of his alleged illegal activities.
On July 18, NDLEA operatives from the Fagge Area Command raided the suspect’s residence in Dandali, recovering 40 bottles (4kg) of Benylin with Codeine and N204,000 in cash. According to State Strategic Commander Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, the operation reflects the agency’s determination to dismantle drug networks threatening public health and safety in Kano.
He stressed that tackling drug crimes requires collective action and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to keeping the state safe and drug-free. The NDLEA also called on residents to report suspicious activities to support the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
