Chairman of the National Assembly Joint Committee on Customs and Tariffs, Senator Isah Jibrin, has urged the immediate enforcement of the 4% Free-On-Board (FOB) charge as mandated by law to enhance the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service.

During a session held Monday with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, Senator Jibrin expressed frustration over the prolonged delay in implementing the statutory charge.

“Do we subject something that has been passed into law to further debate or defense?” he asked, insisting that “the 4 per cent be implemented immediately because it is law.”

Following his statement, the committee voted unanimously in favor of enforcing the FOB charge without further delay, reinforcing their commitment to upholding existing legislation.
