Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball duo, Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa, have earned a coveted spot at the 2025 World Championship in Adelaide, Australia, set to take place from November 14 to 23.
The pair secured qualification after defeating Egypt 2-1 (21-14, 20-22, 15-9) in a thrilling third-place match at the just-concluded CAVB Continental Championship in Morocco.
Head Coach Kayode Ajilore praised the team’s performance, describing it as a display of “class and brilliance.” He credited the outcome to the team’s hard work and determination, adding that the victory confirmed the legitimacy of their African Games silver medal achievement.
Ajilore expressed gratitude to Musa Nimrod, President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, for his continuous support and for fostering an environment where players can shine. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation board and lauded Samuel Onikeku, Sports Secretary of the Nigeria Customs Service, for providing both financial and moral support throughout the championship.
“His presence really made a great boost to us in Morocco,” Ajilore added.
