EFCC Declares Two More Suspects Wanted in ₦1.3trn CBEX Fraud Case

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday declared two additional suspects wanted in connection with an alleged fraudulent scheme tied to Crypto Bridge Exchange, widely known as CBEX.

The individuals, identified as Folashade Odelana and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun, are accused of playing key roles in a scam that reportedly caused major financial losses for unsuspecting investors.

Their addition brings the total number of suspects declared wanted by the commission in connection to the CBEX case to 14.

In a notice shared across its official social media platforms, the anti-corruption agency urged members of the public who may have information on the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward.

The notice stated, “The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear below are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX). FOLASHADE ODELANA. Odelana is 31 years old and her last known address is at No. 17, Oremeta Street, Allen, Ikeja, Lagos State.

“BAMIDELE AYODELE ABIODUN. Abiodun is 32 years old. His last known address is at No.17, Oremeta Street, Allen, Ikeja, Lagos State.

“Anybody with useful information as to their whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices, or through these numbers 09-9044751-3, 08093322644, 08183322644, 07026350721-3, 0706350724-5; its e-mail address: [email protected] or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.”

An estimated 600,000 Nigerians were said to have invested in the digital platform before its collapse in April 2025, resulting in losses amounting to ₦1.3 trillion.

The EFCC is intensifying its manhunt for suspects involved in the CBEX fraud that defrauded about 600,000 Nigerians. With ₦1.3 trillion lost, the scam is one of the largest digital investment frauds in Nigeria’s history.
