Mojtaba Khamenei has delivered his first public message since assuming leadership of Iran, urging national unity while acknowledging the heavy losses suffered during the recent conflict.
The statement, broadcast on Iranian state television, expressed sympathy to families who lost loved ones and promised that those affected by the war would receive compensation.

“We have to protect this unity and this is only possible when we are together and we find common ground,” the statement said.
Khamenei also connected the country’s grief with his own personal losses, revealing that members of his family were killed during recent military strikes.
“This is something that I share with the people who have lost their ones because I lost my father, I lost my wife.
“My sister lost her child as well as the husband who has been martyred.
“But what it makes it easier for us to endure all these plights is to trust the grace of God and to know that patience is going to resolve it.”
His father, Ali Khamenei, who previously led the country for decades, was killed during the conflict that erupted after joint military strikes by United States and Israel earlier this year.
In the statement, the new leader praised Iranians for standing together during the crisis and paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the war.
He said citizens “from all walks of life” had stood firm against external enemies and demonstrated resilience during a difficult period for the nation.

At the same time, Khamenei warned that Iran would not ignore the deaths caused by the conflict and indicated that the country would seek justice for those killed.
“I assure everyone that we will not ignoring the fact that we are going to revenge our martyrs.
“It is not only about the the fact that they martyred our supreme leader.
“And it is not only about him, it is about every single countryman that has been killed during the recent war.”
The statement marks the first major public address by Mojtaba Khamenei since he emerged as Iran’s leader following the death of his father, as the country navigates the aftermath of the war and its political and economic consequences.
