What was meant to be a routine flight turned chaotic after a Nigerian woman, Ms. Gloria Ibukun, was denied boarding by Kenya Airways for attempting to travel to Manchester via Paris without a Schengen visa.
According to reports, the airline offered her alternative routes, but she refused, insisting they provide her with accommodation, which they declined—citing company policy that does not cover layover expenses for passengers without proper documentation.
Frustrated by the situation, Ms. Ibukun allegedly became aggressive and, in a shocking turn of events, threw used sanitary pads at airline staff. The incident quickly escalated, drawing attention from other passengers and airport officials.
Following intervention by Nigeria’s NCAA Consumer Protection Director, Michael Achimugu, Kenya Airways explained its position. As a result, Ms. Ibukun is now set to be flown back to Nigeria.
