Social media users have shared mixed reactions after Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh released a video of herself speaking in tongues, which sparked discussions across different online platforms.
The video, which went viral on Monday, February 9, 2026, showed the actress sitting in a quiet room with her eyes closed while praying in tongues.
Tonto Dikeh shared the clip on her official Instagram page and titled it, “Speak in tongues with me,” inviting her followers to join her in the moment of prayer.
In recent years, the actress has openly talked about her renewed Christian faith and personal repentance journey.
She has also shared testimonies about turning away from her former lifestyle and seeking a closer relationship with God.
Tonto Dikeh has often described her transformation as a deliberate decision to live differently and grow spiritually.
However, the video did not sit well with some social media users, who questioned why she decided to post it publicly.
Reacting to the video, a social media user wrote, “This is disturbing to watch … please add graphic content.”
Another user, commented, “At this point she’s just doing content. Must you post it online?”
A user also shared his view, saying, “Nigerian Pentecostal churches are another form of mammon group (anti-Christ).”
Another added, “Speaking in tongues is outdated. Anyone speaking in tongues is speaking gibberish.”
Another user questioned the act and wrote, “I still don’t understand the concept of setting a camera to pray. Why not pray in secret?”
