President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to continue practicing the virtues of Ramadan beyond the holy month.
After observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the National Eid Ground in Abuja on Sunday, the President urged citizens to embrace piety and commitment to good deeds rather than reverting to past ways.
Also at the Eid ground were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, some members of the Federal Executive Council, and lawmakers, among others.
Muslims in Nigeria and millions of others around the world are celebrating Eid-El-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Eid-El-Fitr, meaning the festival of breaking the fast, is a time of gratitude, charity and communal harmony.
It begins with special prayers known as Eid prayers held in Mosques and open spaces. Following the prayers, families share festive meals, exchange gifts, and extend warm greetings.
