President Bola Tinubu has praised Google CEO Sundar Pichai for the company’s commitment to advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation in Nigeria. During a meeting in Paris, Tinubu, alongside Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy Bosun Tijani, discussed a strategic collaboration with Google to position Nigeria as a leading tech and innovation hub.

The discussions focused on expanding digital infrastructure, equipping the workforce with essential digital skills, promoting AI-driven research, and increasing cloud adoption across industries. Tinubu emphasized that the initiative aligns with his administration’s *Renewed Hope Agenda*, which prioritizes economic diversification through industrialization, technology, and innovation.

Google reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation, with Pichai highlighting the country’s potential to lead AI and technological advancement in Africa. The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy will provide oversight, while NITDA will coordinate efforts with the private sector to maximize impact.

Minister Tijani noted that this partnership would accelerate Nigeria’s technological progress, ensuring AI and digital transformation create tangible benefits for businesses and citizens nationwide.
