He hailed the club’s “hard work, discipline, and unyielding spirit” in clinching the title, just four years after joining the top-flight league. The President praised the players, coaching crew, and management for their dedication and tenacity, especially after three previous close calls in their title pursuits.
President Tinubu also acknowledged the critical role played by the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname. He lauded Soname’s grassroots investments and the establishment of a “state-of-the-art stadium in Ikenne,” which he said was a key pillar for sports development in Nigeria.
