Nigerian musician Seun Kuti claims that the arrest of social media personality Very Dark Man (VDM) in Abuja stems from a prior dispute with a gospel singer.
The arrest has caused an online uproar, with many celebrities, like Davido, demanding his release.
During a live video on Instagram, Kuti, citing a conversation with VDM’s lawyer Deji Adeyanju, who also represents him in a separate case against GTB and other banks, criticized Nigerian banks, stating, “There’s no good bank in Nigeria.”
Kuti further alleged that VDM is being targeted by religious groups and authorities, saying, “Big pastors are running Nigeria alongside the federal government, and the people of God are fighting VDM for speaking the truth.”
While calling for VDM’s release, Kuti stressed that religious organizations are behind the opposition to VDM.
