The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual battery against hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to law enforcement sources, though the embattled music executive is vigorously denying any wrongdoing through his legal representation.
The complaint stems from an incident allegedly occurring in 2020 and involves a male music producer and publicist whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. According to a police report filed in Largo, Florida, the accuser claims he was invited to attend a photo shoot in Los Angeles, where the alleged misconduct took place.
In the report, the producer alleges that during the photo shoot, Combs exposed himself and began masturbating while partially covered by a shirt. The accuser further claims that Combs requested his assistance in the sexual act. According to the complaint, the producer ignored the request and made no response to the advances.
The accuser states that Combs then continued with the alleged behavior before discarding the shirt by throwing it in the producer’s direction. The complaint does not indicate whether the accuser left the scene immediately or what transpired in the aftermath of the alleged incident.
Jonathan Davis, a civil attorney representing the 55-year-old music industry titan, issued a strong denial on behalf of his client. In a statement to TMZ, Davis emphasized that Combs has been facing what he characterized as a barrage of unsubstantiated claims.
“As Mr. Combs’ legal team has repeatedly stated for over a year now, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a media circus,” Davis said. “Let me make it absolutely clear, Mr. Combs categorically denies as false and defamatory all claims that he sexually abused anyone.”
The attorney’s reference to “over a year” of allegations suggests this latest complaint is part of a broader pattern of accusations that have emerged against the Bad Boy Records founder in recent times.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed it is actively investigating the matter, though officials have not provided additional details about the status of the probe or whether investigators have interviewed Combs or other potential witnesses.
The filing of the police report in Florida, rather than California where the incident allegedly occurred, raises questions about jurisdiction and the timeline of when the accuser came forward with the allegations—four years after the purported incident.
Sexual battery is considered a serious criminal offense in California, carrying potential felony charges depending on the circumstances. However, no charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains in its preliminary stages.
