Operatives of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested two kidnap suspects and rescued an abducted victim in a swift search-and-rescue operation in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The police command received an intelligence report on the abduction of Sule Saidu by five armed men on February 28, 2025, which led to a joint operation with vigilantes and local hunters.

The suspects were intercepted along the Babanla/Oreke axis, where they engaged operatives in a gun duel.

Two of the kidnappers were arrested, while the remaining two escaped with gunshot wounds but were later apprehended and succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital.

The police recovered a firearm and charms from the suspects.

The command has commended the bravery and swift response of its officers, as well as the dedication of the local hunters and vigilante group.

Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover more firearms.
