Former governors Peter Obi and Kayode Fayemi were among the dignitaries who attended the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV in Vatican City.
The ceremony, held at St Peter’s Square, marked the beginning of Pope Leo XIV’s papacy as he received the traditional symbols of office in front of thousands of worshippers and visiting dignitaries.
President Bola Tinubu was also in attendance alongside other world leaders, as the Vatican hosted one of the most significant religious events on the global calendar.
Obi, who was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, shared photos of himself and Fayemi at the mass, highlighting their participation in the historic occasion.
