French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that he will attend the funeral of Pope Francis, who died at the age of 88 on Easter Monday.
“We will attend the pope’s funeral as we should,” he told reporters.
The Vatican has not yet announced a date for the funeral.
The Vatican confirmed that the pontiff passed away on Easter Monday at his residence in the Casa Santa Marta within Vatican City.
