INEC had previously announced that the first quarter of the nationwide CVR exercise would conclude on December 10, 2025. The commission also restated that registration activities in Anambra State remain suspended due to “electoral activities,” noting that a new resumption date would be communicated when appropriate.
The CVR process began with online pre-registration on August 18, 2025, followed by in-person registration across all 774 local government areas, at state offices, and in the FCT. According to the commission, the exercise forms part of broader preparations ahead of the forthcoming elections.
INEC added that it will begin the Display of the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections from December 15 to 21, in compliance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022. This display will occur in the local government offices where registrations were conducted.
The commission encouraged citizens—especially those who registered, transferred their details, or made updates during the first quarter—to use the review window to confirm their information and raise objections when needed. INEC stressed that the involvement of the public remains essential in safeguarding the credibility of the voter register.
The second phase of the nationwide CVR exercise is set to resume on January 5, 2026, in line with the previously released timetable.
