The Federal Government has officially disbursed N77,000 as the March allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), following weeks of anticipation.
The confirmation surfaced through the NYSC Online Community, a popular social media platform dedicated to corps members. In circulating images, excited corps members shared screenshots of their bank alerts as evidence of the new allowance.

The payment aligns with the government’s commitment to adjusting corps members’ allowances in line with the recently approved minimum wage review. The increased allowance, which more than doubles the previous N33,000 stipend, has been met with enthusiasm among corps members nationwide.
Many corps members took to social media to celebrate, expressing relief over the long-awaited implementation of the increase. However, some also called for further improvements in welfare conditions, including better accommodation and job opportunities post-service.

While the NYSC management has yet to release an official statement, the circulating payment alerts confirm that the long-awaited increase is now a reality.
