Drake Makes Billboard History with Unprecedented Chart Dominance

In a remarkable display of sustained commercial relevance, Canadian hip-hop superstar Drake has achieved a milestone no rapper has reached before: placing ten separate albums simultaneously on the Billboard 200 chart in a single week.

The achievement, which spans projects released over more than a decade of Drake’s career, underscores the 38-year-old artist’s unique position in contemporary music. His catalog continues to generate significant streaming numbers and sales, with albums ranging from his 2010 debut, “Thank Me Later,” to more recent releases maintaining chart positions across the entire Billboard 200 spectrum.

Leading the pack is “Take Care,” Drake’s 2011 sophomore album, which sits at number 17. The project, widely considered among his most critically acclaimed works, features collaborations with Rihanna, The Weeknd, and Nicki Minaj. Close behind at number 25 is the lo-fi house music project “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” originally released as a 2023 surprise album.

“Views,” the 2016 album that spawned the inescapable hit “One Dance,” holds at number 39, while “Certified Lover Boy” from 2021 occupies the 64th position. His most recent full-length studio effort, “For All The Dogs,” released in 2023, claims the 72nd spot.

The chart positions tell a story of remarkable longevity. “Thank Me Later” sits at 92, still generating interest nearly 15 years after its initial release. “Scorpion,” the 2018 double album featuring “God’s Plan” and “In My Feelings,” holds at 101. The playlist-style project “More Life” from 2017 appears at 133, while “Nothing Was The Same” (2013) lands at 179. Rounding out the historic ten is “Her Loss,” his 2022 collaborative album with 21 Savage, at number 200.

This achievement reflects broader trends in how streaming has transformed music consumption, allowing artists’ entire catalogs to remain commercially viable long after release. Drake’s consistent output, combined with his omnipresence in popular culture and playlist algorithms, has created a self-sustaining ecosystem where older projects continue finding new listeners while recent releases maintain momentum.

The accomplishment also arrives at a complex moment in Drake’s career, following his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar and ongoing discussions about his artistic legacy. Nevertheless, the numbers demonstrate that whatever critical debates may swirl, Drake’s commercial dominance remains virtually unmatched in hip-hop.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Drake has made history as the first rapper to chart 10 albums simultaneously on the Billboard 200, with projects spanning from his 2010 debut to recent releases. This unprecedented achievement demonstrates how streaming has transformed the music industry—allowing an artist’s entire catalog to remain commercially viable for over a decade.

While critical debates about Drake’s legacy continue, the numbers prove one undeniable fact: no rapper has ever maintained this level of sustained commercial dominance across their entire body of work.
