Two-time Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has revealed his upcoming fourth album, titled Money. The announcement came via a post on his X account on Thursday, sparking excitement among fans.
The title aligns with his well-known moniker “Mr. Money,” a nod to his debut album, Mr. Money With The Vibes, in 2022, which solidified his rise to fame. The new album follows the massive success of his 2024 release, Lungu Boy, which was named the best-selling album of the year by Turntable Charts.
Lungu Boy debuted at No. 1 and held the top spot for an unprecedented 15 weeks, marking Asake’s third consecutive project to dominate the charts. His earlier albums, Mr Money With The Vibes (2022) and Work of Art (2023), also claimed the No. 1 position in their respective years.
Asake was crowned Nigeria’s best-selling artist in 2024, a title he has now held for three consecutive years—a historic first in Nigerian music.
Since his mainstream breakthrough in 2022 with the hit-packed EP Ololade Asake, the YBNL signee has been hailed as one of Afrobeats’ greatest hitmakers, with a string of chart-topping singles that critics and fans regard as one of the most remarkable runs in Nigerian pop music this century.
The announcement of Money, his fifth project since 2022, comes amid a transformative year for the artist. In 2025, Asake debuted a bold new look, including a full-body tattoo, a fresh hairstyle, and what he described in a post-Grammy freestyle as a “military mindset.” His appearance at the 67th Grammy Awards earlier this year further cemented his global influence.
As anticipation builds for Money, fans and industry watchers are eager to see if Asake can maintain his chart-dominating streak and continue redefining Afrobeats on the world stage.
