Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has dismissed allegations of sexual harassment leveled against her husband by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, calling them false and baseless.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Mrs. Akpabio defended her husband’s integrity, stating that he is a disciplined and respectful man who values women.
The allegations stem from Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claim that her troubles in the Senate began after she rejected Akpabio’s advances.
In response, Mrs. Akpabio recounted the longstanding cordial relationship between both families and dismissed the claims as a fabrication. She also noted that she was present at their family residence on December 8, 2023—the alleged date of the incident—further questioning the validity of the accusations.
She emphasized her husband’s commitment to women’s empowerment, citing his history of supporting female representation in government long before becoming Senate President.
Urging women to refrain from making unfounded accusations, Mrs. Akpabio vowed to seek legal action to address the matter.
