The Accord Party’s Screening Committee has confirmed Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as the only aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
The announcement was issued through a statement by the committee’s chairman and the party’s National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod.

According to Thankgod, Adeleke satisfied all necessary criteria for nomination and was officially cleared as the party’s sole contender. He praised the governor, describing him as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant” capable of representing the party effectively.
Adeleke received his certificate of clearance during a presentation on Wednesday in Osogbo. In his remarks, the governor expressed appreciation to the screening committee and the leadership of the Accord Party, stating that he is fully prepared to move toward victory in the coming polls.
He reaffirmed his readiness for both the primary process and the governorship election itself, asserting, “I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace.”

Adeleke’s confirmation comes just a day after he formally declared his membership in the Accord Party, following his exit from the People’s Democratic Party on December 2.
