Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed circulating rumours about his health, saying that there was never a time he collapsed or was flown overseas for treatment.

Wike made the clarification on Thursday during an inspection tour of ongoing infrastructure projects in Abuja.

He claimed that the false reports came from “mischief-makers” who, according to him, are attempting to distract the public from the allegations made by the former Head of Service of Rivers State, George Nwaeke against suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.

The former head of service on March 28th, 2025, claimed to have witnessed Fubara handing over a bag of money to Ehie to destroy the Rivers State House Assembly Complex.

Fubara and Ehie have both denied the allegations, insisting that Nwaeke was under an influence, and not in his right frame of mind when he made the allegations.

Additionally, Ehie said he had instructed his lawyer to start a defamation suit against Nwaeke.
