The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has entered into a partnership with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to enhance the league’s visibility and engagement with fans nationwide.
The NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, described the partnership as a strategic move aimed at increasing the popularity of Nigeria’s top-tier football league both locally and internationally
Elegbeleye said that Radio Nigeria’s extensive reach and longstanding reputation made the collaboration a natural fit, describing it as part of the broadcaster’s corporate social responsibility.
“I remember those days when Radio Nigeria commentators gave the league the vibe and visibility it deserved. The voice of Ernest Okonkwo will not be forgotten easily,” Elegbeleye stated after signing the deal.
“We in the NPFL want Nigerians to enjoy the best of radio commentaries again.
“This MoU will help us bring the magic of the league to homes, cars, and every football fan in the country.”
